RESPONSIBLITIES
Accounting & Tax Preparation Specialist (Part-Time / Seasonal)
The Koch Group is seeking a reliable, experienced part-time accounting and tax professional who values work/life balance and fits into a small, casual firm environment. This role supports the preparation and processing of tax returns for individuals and small businesses, along with general accounting support and client coordination. You’ll work with a small team in a casual business environment. The position is part-time, in-person, with full-time hours during tax season and reduced hours the rest of the year.
Ideal for someone seeking steady, seasonal work without the pressure or hours of a large firm.

Gather and organize client financial information for tax preparation.

Review financial records to determine required forms and filings.

Ensure all required documents are collected and follow-up on missing information.

Support scanning, filing, and organization of documents within file system.

Prepare or assist in the preparation of tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership and trust).

Review returns for accuracy and completeness prior to finalization.

Support end-to-end tax return processing, including assembly and client delivery.

Assist with internal database/processes including updating status steps, setting-up new clients and maintaining client profiles.

Provide bookkeeping and accounting assistance services to clients.

Perform special tax and/or accounting projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

General knowledge of federal, state, and local tax concepts.

Experience with tax preparation software and/or QuickBooks preferred.

Knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION &
EXPERIENCE

Associates degree (or higher).

Experience in tax preparation and accounting/bookkeeping preferred (CPA not required).
SCHEDULE
-
Part-time, in-person role.
-
Full-time hours during tax season (~10 weeks leading up to April 15th).

Hours not anticipated to exceed 40 per week during tax season.

Reduced, flexible hours the remainder of the year.
